- The author discusses "The Adventure of a Photographer," a short story written in the mid-1950s by the Italian writer Italo Calvino. The author argues that in the story Calvino shows how a photographer's obsession with capturing reality can lead to the unhinging of the mind from that very reality. The story, the author argues, thus serves as an apt parable about photography.
